Are you open?

Yes, the taproom is open during our listed hours. There are only two days we are closed, Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day. If you need fresh craft beer for those occasions, please stop by the day before and pick up a couple of growlers (or bottles or kegs) for your special event.

Are kids allowed?

All ages are welcome at Heretic Brewing, but we ask that you keep your kids with you and do not let them wander for their own safety. For a tour of the brewery, everyone must be 18 or older to tour and 21 or older to drink alcohol.

Do you serve food?

We have a full kitchen offering a variety of locally sourced foods including many pub favorites and even vegetarian options. You are also welcome to bring your own food and enjoy it in our taproom. Click here to see our food menu. The kitchen stops service 30 minutes before the taproom.

Can I bring my own wine or beer?

No, California ABC rules prohibit that. Luckily, we have many different beers, cocktails, wines, and non-alcoholic drinks available for even the most finicky drinker.

Do you have non-alcoholic options?

We have sodas, water, and cold brew coffee available.

Do you fill growlers?

Yes. We also have bottled beer, canned beer, and kegs.

Will you fill another brewery’s growler?

A lot has been made of this online recently. While some breweries will only fill their growlers, the law does allow for a little more than that. The issue is this: the law does not allow us to fill a growler that has another brewery’s branding on it, unless that branding is completely covered in a manner not easily removable. We are happy to fill any legal container. If you bring in a clean growler where you have covered over any brewery information, then we will be happy to fill it for you. In the end, we don’t care about selling you another container. We sell beer, not glass.

Do you have wi-fi?

Yes, just ask the bartender for the access information. We also have several strategically placed USB outlets on the front of the bar, so bring your USB cord or your charger and you can sit and have a beer while your device charges.

Do you sell shirts at the taproom?

Yes, our taproom has a variety of Heretic branded merchandise available. We have shirts, sweat jackets, glassware, books, and more.

Will you donate to our event?

Quite possibly. We limit our donations to non-profit organizations only and they must be in an area where our beer is regularly available. You MUST submit your request at least 6 weeks in advance. Requests with less notice are generally rejected. You can submit a request here: Donation Requests

How do you pronounce Heretic?

Where did the name come from?

Check out this blog post: Birth of a Heretic

Do you brew your own beer?

Yes, we do. Nobody brews our beer but us! We started by sharing a building with another brewery in 2011, but we always brewed our beer ourselves. Within the first six months we realized there wasn’t enough space for two breweries in one building, so we began the search for a new place. By 2013, we had built a new, modern brewery in the wonderful city of Fairfield, California and moved all our operations there, including our new distillery.

Where can I find your beer?

Check out our distribution page to see which distributors carry our beer in your area.

Can I tour your brewery?

Yes, we offer free tours. Free basic tours of the brewery are given Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays at 4pm. Reservations are not needed, just show up by 3:45 pm and let the bartender know you are there for the tour. If you have a large group (8 or more) then please email us at to let us know you’re which day you will be coming. After the tour you can purchase beer in the tap room. You must have proof of being over 21 if you would like to purchase beer. Small children are not allowed on the tour for safety reasons.

Do you have a tasting room?

Yes. Our tasting room offers many beers that you might not be able to find elsewhere. Come and have a beer with us. You can see what beers are on tap and view our hours of operation on the Contact us page.

Where can I buy a shirt/glass/hat/sticker?

Come on down to the taproom. We have a variety of merchandise available. We tried having an online store, but things went out of stock so frequently, it was not the best. If you need something mail order, you can email us info at hereticbrewing dot com and we might be able to help you out.

Will you send me bottle caps or labels for my collection?

We do send out a limited amount of labels and caps for collectors. We won’t send you a giant bundle for you to sell on eBay. If you want something for your personal collection, send us a self-addressed stamped envelope and a note stating what it is you would like. Please be aware that anything sent without adequate return postage will just be tossed in the recycling. Unfortunately, we cannot provide return postage for you and emails demanding that we send stuff to Russia or wherever at our expense are just deleted.

Are you hiring?

We are constantly expanding and often need to add to our team. You can submit your resume and we will consider you for any open positions, but keep in mind we get a lot of resumes and only respond to those that match a current open spot. Resumes should be emailed to If we are hiring and think you are a match, we will email you back to schedule an interview.

Can I work for you for free?

No. Thank you for offering, but we don’t do that. Your time is valuable and so is ours. If we ask someone to work, we pay them to work. This keeps it nice and legal for the state of California and our insurance company doesn’t get all upset at us either.
